Christopher Schaberg received his PhD in English from the University of California at Davis in 2009, specializing in 20th-century American Literature and Critical Theory. Schaberg’s scholarly interests span across contemporary literature, cultural studies, environmental humanities, creative nonfiction, editing and publishing, and public scholarship. His writings on the culture of air travel have garnered international praise. Schaberg is the author of ten books, including The Textual Life of Airports  (2012), Searching for the Anthropocene  (2019), and Adventure: An Argument for Limits (2023). At WashU, Schaberg teaches a graduate seminar called Introduction to Public Scholarship, and contributes to the undergraduate Publishing Specialization with the course The Art of Publishing. Schaberg is a founding co-editor of Bloomsbury’s book series Object Lessons
